While metropolitan connoisseurs of Italian cuisine and admirers of a famous chef Valentino Bontempi comprise the main audience of Pinzeria restaurant, it can as well become a local hotspot and a perfect business lunch destination. Pinzeria is also suitable for both romantic and family dinners, banquets.
Objective:Space to create a comfortable cafe with a vivid and memorable outlook and to capitalize on the river view.
Solution:We’ve remodeled and enlarged the space razing suspended ceiling and partitions. Perforated planes with geometric pattern separate the room into multiple areas.
We didn’t start from the scratch. Previously the space harbored a 90s-style cafe with a curved suspended ceiling and wavy room partitions. The first step for us was to raze the sheetrock ceiling that was eating up a lot of space. Steel beams, overhead wires and piping were left intact and painted the same color as the ceiling.
Bar counter resembling a large open flower is the central point of attention. White plywood furniture is color-wise in the stark contrast with dark graphite walls. Walls with floral patterns of sliced tomatoes, stylized images of bay and basil leaves on lampshades and pillows emphasize organic and eco-friendly aspects of Valentino Bontempi cuisine.
Lampshades provide the directional light, while LED swivels illuminate the background. Additional visual depth is ensured by the lighting system in perforated partitions. There’s a cantilever lamp above each table.
Movable modular extension tables make the space adjustable to clients’ needs.
